“It’s better to be in the arena, getting stomped by the bull, than to be up in the stands or out in the parking lot.” ― Steven Pressfield
Pressfield writes a riveting, witty account regarding Resistance. He is writing about resisting the creative process but you can apply this idea concept anywhere. Which I am doing. My whole life has felt like a resistance to living; but now I take back the reigns.
“How many of us have become drunks and drug addicts, developed tumors and neuroses, succumbed to painkillers, gossip, and compulsive cellphone use, simply because we don’t do that thing that our hearts, our inner genius, is calling us to? Resistance defeats us.” This is another quote from the book that Derek Sivers notes stood out for him.
Derek Sivers says about Pressfield’s book, “Have you experienced a vision of the person you might become, the work you could accomplish, the realized being you were meant to be?…Then you know what “Resistance” is. This book is about that. Read it.”
I know I have had a vision of the person I might become and the thought excites me until the negative thoughts rush in to tell me why I can’t: diabetes, dialysis, food addiction. Then I go to eat. That is my resistance.
“Fear doesn’t go away. The warrior and the artist live by the same code of necessity, which dictates that the battle must be fought anew every day,” says Steven Pressfield.
I need to remember this and renew my oath each day to taking up courageously my shield. If you have the inclination I suggest you take a look at his book The War of Art (available from Amazon.ca or Amazon.com).

Blood sugars about the same . Taking 1 Tresiba a day. Corrections with humalog between .5 to 1.5 units…total yesterday was 7 units. No urine.
