In order to free up time and money to heal from type-1 diabetes, I’ve found I need to minimize other areas of my life.
John, Jonah and I have been listening to podcasts for the last two months about minimalizing. I’m talking about minimizing all areas of our lives but especially in regards to STUFF we own.
We are moving back into a smaller space in the city after enjoying the “spread out” life in the country. In order to downsize, we got rid of STUFF. Boxes and boxes marched out the door to the thrift store and to charity. Bags flew to the garbage dump. Other items were slowly exchanged for money with the help of Kijiji (mainly furniture). I uploaded all our CDs onto the computer. We weeded hundreds of papers down to 15 file folders (that may still be scanned into the computer).
We keep looking at what we own and say: “Does this add value to our lives?” It feels great to get rid of it.
With less space and less stuff, house cleaning won’t take as long. Less items to collect dirt and dust (that causes people to sneeze all the time).
We have a new rule: Anything new that comes in; something old has to go out.
So not only am I detoxing my body with the nutritional balancing protocol I’m detoxing my home of burdensome STUFF. It feels as if I am unleashing the energy to heal myself – the whole Self.
I’m making life simpler. This helps me just enjoy my family and heal type-1 diabetes and kidney failure. It just seems like the next right step to clearing out the garbage.
Hope you are all well and thank you for the readership.
